Stairs Animation.

This animation shows the path in which you would follow to go up the stairs, and then back down. It starts from the view point of someone walking through the gears, before changing to a birds eye view and panning the top of the gears. It then reaches the stairs, and the path is followed.

SketchUp Model Week 4 (Final design)

This SketchUp is based on a sketch, where two independent areas are connected together by stairs. Below the ground, are the gears, a noun for Revival Cycles. Above ground are belts, another noun, but this one is for Gucci. They are connected by stairs that relate to them. To go up, you take the stairs that look like they were built from the same material as the gears. To go down to the below ground area, you must take the stairs that were created based on the belts and their material.
I created this design because I could visualise it as a part of a different world. To me, it is a city that reflects the image we see in people. By that I mean, on the surface you can see the prettier subjects, that have had more effort put into them to create a more polished appearance. Below the surface is where all the more complex workings are happening, and where things might be more of a mess. It is no where near as refined but it is more genuine and intricate. You would need to "dig deep” to get to the below ground area/inner workings (as you would with a person), but following those steps will get you there.

Textures created on steel surfaces (including leather)

This is a video I found on youtube of creating different textures on steel. I found this both fascinating and relevant, since a large portion of my model is made out of steel. The man in the video then proceeds to create a leather texture on the surface of the steel, which is another material that is greatly used in my design.
(As stated in the video description on youtube, this is not my video, nor do I have any claim to it.)

Textures added to SketchUp model (Week 3)

This week I worked on some textures and added them to my design, where I felt like it was needed and would accentuate my model.

On the gears and the stair going up from the gears, I used steel as the texture. I then applied tiles to the floor of the platforms between the stairs, and stucco for the walls of the platforms, (as shown above).

SketchUp Model Week 2

Working on the SketchUp model this week, I have added stairs and a middle ground area. I have also added small platforms in the between the above ground and below ground areas. In the last two pictures, you can see I added a man of average height standing near the stairs to show scale.

SketchUp design week 1

This week I created the below ground and above ground area in the SketchUp model. The above ground is "belts", a noun for Gucci, and is made out leather. The below ground area is "gears", a noun inspired by Revival Cycles, and made from steel. This SketchUp model is based on the sketch posted a few days ago, with "belts" and "gears".

Below are textures based on words inspired by a variety of materials.

Sections Intertwine

Below are two sketches of three sections of earth connected to each other. The sections are based on a noun, a verb, and an adjective inspired by each client, and are shown as above ground, ground level, and below ground.

An artistic personal excerpt

1.  An artwork by me.

This is a painted I created a couple of years ago. It was inspired by an surrealist image that came into my head. As an artwork, the image is open to interpretation by each viewer, seen through the lens from which they perceive the world. To me (at the time of painting it), the rainbow at the end of the path way was a mirage; the joker enticing the people, mocking them, as no matter how closer they got, it was still out of reach. For that, I named it 'Chasing the Rainbow'. I look at it now though, and I feel warmth. To me now, it represents a brighter future, and walking to a goal, or getting nearer to something beautiful. The other components of this painting were chosen because they were things I liked: the rain, the little cafes and the tables outside, the dim street lights that paved the way at night, and the colourful buildings that you would find in small towns in Italy.

2. An image of great Architecture.

Here is an image of what I find to be one of the most beautiful and intricate creations in classical architecture. This is the Palazzo Poli, a building in Rome located behind the infamous Trevi Fountain. In my eyes, it a magnificent piece that truly shows what the incredible architectures of the time were capable of creating. The amount of comprehensive detail (figures, script, dentil ornament, coffers, etc.) in the building makes it very engaging, and to me, quite aesthetic, too.

3. A beautiful photograph

Here is an unfiltered photograph that I took on my phone of a lake in Wollongong, in January 2014. I would go past this lake every time I went for a run and was always stunned by nature’s beauty. In this one shot, you can see the calm reflection of the sky and trees in the lake on that early evening.
