Lumion Environment

The images below give an understanding of the environment in which the model is placed. The model is mainly made out of glass, for reasons relating to both aesthetics and passive architecture.

Animation 2

In this animation, you can see the lift moving through the building to connect the two bridge spaces. The lift saves people both time and energy, in comparison to stairs. There are still spaces designed for stairs in the model.

Animation 1

For the first moving element, I decided to add a roof that moves above the highest bridge. The purpose of the movement is to assist with "Passive Housing". It closes to provide shade when it is raining or too hot, and is left open when it is too cold and optimisation of solar gains is needed.

Animation 1 draft

This is a draft of the first animation.

Week 2 - Model on campus (sketchup)

I inserted the bridge onto the model of the campus between the square house and round house, and then adjusted the shape slightly to fit. The photos below show the process of this happening.

Bridge model - first draft

Based on one of the sketches I made in class last week, I created this on SketchUp. The model is a clear/transparent seeming space because I envision it to be made out of glass. The hollow spaces are walking spaces, and the closed areas are rooms.

I then decided to add a space in the model where stairs could be placed, to take you from the bridge on the ground floor to the bridges on the second floor. I created four of these spaces, on both the left and right side of the model, and on both the front and the back of the model. This is shown in the images below.
